When this little note announced itself with the subject: Ideas for a new pace of life, I felt both intrigued and comforted: “Why yes, life is different and it’s all a bit weird. Thanks for noticing! You have suggestions for coping? I’m all ears!” (Also yes, I speak to my inbox now…)

Inside? Just a heartening note from a team of people grateful to still be working, collaborating with their community of suppliers, serving their customers, looking after their cows.

They didn’t try to sell their milk as a comforting warm drink during uneasy times. Or flog their yoghurt as an immune boosting health food packed with gut-friendly bacteria.

But when I’m next shopping for dairy, I have a feeling I’ll be choosing products from these folks anyway, picturing cows grazing lazily and staff going about their days with a smile.
